Tom Kendall

Tom has 18 years’ experience working in IT, he spent 2 years working as Professor Stephen Hawking’s assistant, gaining valuable experience in problem solving and creative thinking.

The majority of Tom’s experience was gained when working for Cambridge University, both for Trinity College and Fitzwilliam College. Tom began working at Trinity as an IT assistant and before long became the deputy IT Manager.  He then moved to Fitzwilliam College as the IT Manager.

In 2009, looking for a greater challenge Tom decided to take a new direction; he applied to and was accepted by VSO.  In 2010 Tom began his placement with VSO in Kenya, working with a disability group at their Bombolulu Workshops in Mombasa as the IT Manager.

Since completing his VSO placement, Tom has remained in Kenya, working as a freelance IT consultant.

Tara Kendall

Tara has 16 years’ experience in IT Training, IT support, Project Management and more recently E-Learning development with PwC, Dublin.  In 2009 she completed an MSc in Applied E-learning after completing a post graduate diploma in Learning Technology the previous academic year.

In 2011 she came to Kenya as a VSO volunteer in Isiolo and Nairobi. Tara’s VSO placement was as an IT trainer for a number of VSO partner organisations.  She enjoyed the challenges and rewards of living in Kenya.  On completion of her VSO placement, she returned to Dublin temporarily, moving back to Kenya permanently in 2013 to start Tx2.
